In fact, it’s one of the fastest and most effective ways to instantly change your smile for the better. Whether you’ve been wanting to get whiter teeth and weren’t impressed by at-home products, or you’re preparing for a special event and want to look your best –we can help!

How long does teeth whitening take

Teeth whitening usually lasts about 30 minutes (with two, 15 minute sessions). This allows for greater gel concentration and exposure, without leaving your teeth exposed for too long, which can cause sensitivity.

How long do the results from teeth whitening last?

The results from your teeth whitening will vary, largely depending on your oral health routine, your diet, and the potential for food and drink to gradually dull the whiteness of your teeth. Typically, the results of your in-office teeth whitening should last from about 6 months up to a year.  To prolong results, our dentists may recommend touch-up treatment if you frequently smoke, drink black coffee, iced tea, and other foods known to stain teeth. To help reduce stains, you can also minimize the impact by drinking through a straw.

If I have sensitive teeth, can I still try teeth whitening?

A majority of our patients do not experience pain or sensitivity from teeth whitening. However, if you have general tooth sensitivity or sensitivity from receding gums, there can be a small amount of tingling. The best way to alleviate this is to avoid drinking very hot or cold liquids shortly after your treatment. If treatment persists, please do not hesitate to talk to your dentist. There is also a chance that some gel can get on your gums, which can sometimes cause inflammation or small white spots. This is common, and should go-away in a couple hours.

How much whiter can my teeth be with in-office whitening?

Everyone’s teeth are different, so it’s hard to guarantee the specific degree to which your teeth will whiten, however, most patients see their teeth whiten 6 to 12 shades. This typically depends on how stained a patient’s teeth were before treatment began. If necessary, additional treatments can be used to help achieve the level of whiteness you desire.
